Do you tell my G.P. about my treatment?
We need the details of your G.P. when you arrive, for our records. We encourage you to discuss your treatment with your G.P , but we do not contact your doctor unless you specifically ask us to. All aspects of your consultation, treatment etc are confidential and cannot be divulged to anyone without your permission.

In some cases it may be helpful to contact your G.P.   to arrange tests or x-rays, but we will discuss this with you at the time.

Do I need to be referred by my G.P.?
You do not need to be referred by your G.P. to see an Osteopath.

Private medical insurance
At present there is no general provision for Osteopathy through the NHS. In most cases you will be required to pay for your treatment at the time of the appointment.

BUPA patients.

If you are insured with BUPA we can bill them directly. Both Vaughan Cooper and Jenny Pritchard are currently registered to treat patients under the BUPA scheme.

Please make sure you speak to BUPA before your treatment and obtain a treatment number. Bring this, as well as your membership number and details of any excess, to your consultation. If these details are not available you will be asked to pay on the day of treatment.

All other Insurance and Health Provider policies.

For all other insurance schemes including Remidi, Standard Life, PPP/ AXA, Westfield etc., you will be asked to pay for treatment on the day. We will provide you with a full receipt which you use to claim back the money directly from your Provider.
